An Inspector for the City of Waterbury Bureau of Fire Prevention spoke with CNV members at the September 9th meeting about a federal grant they obtained allowing them to install at no charge photoelectric smoke and CO protectors. Eligible persons must be Waterbury residents, own and live in their one-or two family home. In addition to the alarms, battery operated lanterns and flashlights are provided and the Fire Department performs a safety assessment and provide tips on fire safety.
