Bruises, black eyes, welts, lacerations, and rope marks;<br \/>\n2. Bone fractures, skull fractures;<br \/>\n3. Open wounds, cuts, punctures, untreated injuries in various stages of healing;<br \/>\n4. Sprains, dislocations, internal injuries\/bleeding;<br \/>\n5. Broken eyeglasses\/frames, physical signs of being subjected to punishment and signs of being restrained;<br \/>\n6. Laboratory findings of medication overdose or under utilization of prescription drugs;<br \/>\n7. Reports of being hit, slapped, kicked, or mistreated;<br \/>\n8. Sudden changes in behavior and the caregiver&#8217;s refusal to allow visitors to see an elder alone.<\/p>\n<p>Signs and Symptoms\/Sexual Abuse:<br \/>\n1. Bruises around the breasts or genital area;<br \/>\n2. Unexplained venereal disease or genital infections;<br \/>\n3. Unexplained vaginal or anal bleeding;<br \/>\n4. Torn, stained or bloody underclothing; and<br \/>\n5. Reports of being sexually assaulted or raped.<\/p>\n<p>Signs and Symptoms\/Psychological Abuse:<br \/>\n1. Being emotionally upset or agitated;<br \/>\n2. Being extremely withdrawn or non-communicative or non-responsive;<br \/>\n3. Unusual behavior usually attributed to dementia; and<br \/>\n4. Reports of being verbally or emotionally mistreated.<\/p>\n<p>Signs and Symptoms\/Neglect:<br \/>\n1. Dehydration, malnutrition, untreated bed sores, and poor personal hygiene;<br \/>\n2. Unattended or untreated health problems;<br \/>\n3. Hazardous or unsafe living conditions or arrangements;<br \/>\n4. Unsanitary and unclean living conditions (dirt, fleas, lice, soiled bedding, Fecal\/urine smell, inadequate clothing); and<br \/>\n5. Reports of being mistreated.<\/p>\n<p>Signs and Symptoms\/Abandonment:<br \/>\n1. Desertion of an elder at a hospital, nursing facility or similar institution;<br \/>\n2.
